Dr. James Ranft will be on medical leave from August 7th, 2023 through approximately September 30th, 2023.  In his stead, we are pleased to announce that Jessica Wolfe, OD, MS will be coming in to maintain the top-notch level of care that Dr. Ranft has provided his patients for over 30 years until he returns.  Dr. Wolfe is originally from Northeast Ohio and graduated Valedictorian from Waterloo High School in 2012. Having a passion for science, she quickly gravitated toward an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry where she graduated Magna Cum Laude from The University of Mount Union in 2016, after achieving University Honors and Honors in the Major of Biochemistry. With this strong scientific foundation, optometry was a natural path and she continued on to The Ohio State University College of Optometry where she was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society and graduated Cum Laude as a Doctor of Optometry in 2020. It was during her time as a student at Ohio State that she became fast friends with Dr. Myers, as they were both committed to maintaining strong academic performance while providing exceptional patient care.

Dr. Wolfe also built her skills as a research clinician through pursuance of the OD/MS dual degree program at The Ohio State University College of Optometry where she was active in contact lens research and received her Master’s Degree in Vision Science in 2020. She presented her team’s research on contact lens habits, hygiene, and compliance at the American Academy of Optometry in 2018 and it was also published in Contact Lens and Anterior Eye in 2019. Upon graduating with her OD/MS in 2020, Dr. Wolfe has served patients in both private practice and retail settings through the diagnosis and management of vision disorders and ocular diseases -including diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, dry eye, contact lens-related complications, eye infections, and trauma.

Dr. Wolfe is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA) and looks forward to getting to know her patients at Tipp Eye Center while providing full-scope optometric care. She currently lives with her dog, Coco, and enjoys reading, hiking, video games, and spending time with family.
